Blackpool Combat Club vs. Eddie Kingston & FTR

When we return from the break, we see highlights from Collision to explain the build-up to our next match, which is a featured Trios bout. “The Dapper Yapper” Justin Roberts begins the formal ring introduction for the Blackpool Combat Club.

With that said, Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli all make their way to the ring through the crowd to the tune of Mox’s “Wild Thing” theme music. They settle inside the squared circle for our first match of the evening.

FTR’s theme hits next and out come Top Guys Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. The theme for “The Mad King” hits next and AEW Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston makes his way out. The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one.

Kicking things off for their respective teams are Kingston and Danielson. A preview of this Sunday’s showdown ends before anything happens, as Danielson pulls the heel move and tags right out. Castagnoli comes in and he and Kingston begin to mix it up as fans chant “Eddie! Eddie!”

After some back-and-forth early action, we head into our first of two mid-match commercial breaks. Upon returning from the second break, this lengthy match wraps up after two super close near falls for each team, with Danielson doing the Nate Diaz double biceps pose with a triangle choke on Kingston for the win.

Winners: Blackpool Combat Club

Blackpool Combat Club Accepts FTR’s Challenge For AEW Revolution

When we return from the break, we see Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli backstage. Mox talks about how FTR challenged the Blackpool Combat Club duo for a match at AEW Revolution. Mox goes on to accept the challenge. He then does a callback to last week and asks Claudio what he’s thinking. Claudio chimes in with a few comments and then this brief backstage segment wraps up.

Bryan Danielson vs. Jun Akiyama

It’s main event time!

As soon as we return from the commercial time out, we hear the familiar sounds of Eddie Kingston’s theme music. “The Mad King” emerges to a big pop. The AEW Continental Crown Champion heads down to join Tony Schiavone, Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness on the call for our main event.

Fans chant “Eddie! Eddie!” as he takes his seat at ringside alongside Tony, Kevin and Nigel. We then hear the equally familiar sounds of the theme song for Bryan Danielson. Out comes “The American Dragon” and member of the Blackpool Combat Club to a good reaction from the crowd.

Danielson settles in the ring for our final match of the evening. Jun Akiyama’s theme hits and out comes the Japanese legend for this headline bout against Danielson. The commentators talk with Kingston about his admiration for Akiyama. The bell sounds and we get this one officially off-and-running.

Akiyama and Danielson mix it up early on, and after some early offense from the Japanese legend, we see “The American Dragon” ground him and start to utilize his superior submission-based skills. The commentators talk to Kingston about Danielson’s passionate comments earlier tonight about him wasting his potential.

“The Mad King” makes a sarcastic remark about how he’s got three titles right now and boy that’s really wasting his potential. Meanwhile, we see Akiyama escape a Danielson submission and now he has the BCC member grounded. Akiyama focuses his attack on the arm of Danielson.

Danielson goes for a dive through the ropes but runs into a big forearm from Akiyama as he soars through. On that note, we shift gears and head into our final commercial break of the evening as the action continues in our main event with Akiyama taking it to Danielson at ringside right in front of Kingston on commentary.

When we return from the break, we see Akiyama still controlling the action, but not for long, as Danielson starts to come to life and take over. The two trade shots in passionate fashion back-and-forth in the center of the ring. Danielson stalks Akiyama in the corner and hits his Busaiku Knee for the pin fall victory.

He celebrates his win over Kingston’s mentor and hero Akiyama right in front of “The Mad King,” who stares daggers back at him from the commentary desk. Danielson then smirks and voluntarily shakes Akiyama’s hand, proving he respects him but not Kingston. He turns back and grills Kingston. He flips him off.

He turns around and Akiyama, who saw that, slaps the hell out of Danielson in the face. Danielson pretends like he’s sorry and looks to shake hands with Akiyama again. When Akiyama tries to, Danielson blatantly kicks him with a low blow. Kingston has finally seen enough and he storms into the ring and takes Danielson down.

He begins flurrying on him with ground and pound, pummeling “The American Dragon” until Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli of the BCC hit the ring to make the save for Danielson. The three beat Kingston down until the FTR duo of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler run out to make the save.

Tony Schiavone announces per Tony Khan that there will be a Trios match on Dynamite next week with Eddie Kingston and FTR taking on BCC trio Danielson, Mox and Castagnoli. After the announcement is made, this week’s AEW Collision goes off the air. Thanks for joining us!

Winner: Bryan Danielson

Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli were backstage!

Moxley: “You know what they say: you can’t fix stupid, but you can choke it. FTR—they are the standard bearer, they are the benchmark of great tag team wrestling. You don’t think we know tag team wrestling? You don’t think we are every bit the artists when it comes to tag team wrestling that you are?

Claudio: “We don’t walk around calling ourselves Top Guys. We don’t have to. We get results. We don’t play this. We are this.”

Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Esfinge & Star Jr.

Tony Schiavone welcomes us to the show as we settle down to the ring. “Wild Thing” plays and out comes Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli from the locker room, with the camera following them through the crowd for their custom ring entrance. Claudio looks in rough shape as he heads to the ring with Mox.

The CMLL duo of Esfinge and Star Jr. make their way out with masks and capes on to a very light reaction from the crowd. They settle into the ring and the bell sounds to get us started. Mox and Star Jr. kick things off for their respective teams. Mox grounds Star Jr. and works him over early on.

Now the duo from CMLL start to fight back and take over with double team action. Claudio comes in to help but gets sent to the floor. Mox does as well. The two go for a big dive, but pump the breaks when they reach the ropes and decide against it. Back in the ring, Esfinge and Claudio are the legal men.

Claudio hits the big swing to wake the crowd up. Star Jr. and Esfinge hit some double-team action again and this time they do connect with a double dive to the floor on the Blackpool Combat Club duo. Back in the ring, Castagoli takes over again as we head into a mid-match commercial break.

When we return from the break and see the match still in progress. After some back-and-forth action, we see Mox finish this one with an armbar for the tap out victory.

Winners Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli

Blackpool Combat Club & FTR Involved In Wild Brawl

Once the match wraps up, we see Mox and Claudio still in the ring. Mox gets on the mic. “Gracis, amigos,” he says to the CMLL duo. He then talks about how any team that wants it can get it.

With that said, FTR’s theme hits and out comes Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. We see the two head to the ring to a big pop as their Midnight Express-sounding theme rocks and rolls. The foursome stare each other down and then a wild brawl breaks out.

We see security and wrestlers from the back rush out to try and break things up. They seem to have order restored but then the four start going at it again. As they continue to try and separate these four, we head into another commercial break.

Eddie Kingston & Ortiz vs. Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli

It’s main event time!

When we return from the commercial break, we immediately hear the familiar sounds of Bryan Danielson’s theme music. Out comes “The American Dragon” and fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Claudio Castagnoli for our tag-team headline bout of this week’s show.

After the BCC duo settle in the ring, their music dies down and the entrance theme for their opponents hits. The crowd goes bonkers as AEW Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston and his friend and tag-team partner Ortiz make their way out to the ring.

They settle inside and the bell sounds to get this one officially off-and-running. Kingston and Danielson kick things off for their respective teams. Danielson avoids locking up with Kingston at all costs early on, leading to “The Mad King” playing to the crowd quite a bit in a fun scene.

Danielson finally does start to engage and he blasts Kingston with some vicious kicks and then does some jumping-jacks to add insult to injury. Kingston fights back and takes over again and then tags in Ortiz. Ortiz hits the ring but Danielson immediately takes over and tags in Castagnoli, who picks up where he left off, taking it to Ortiz.

Castagnoli heads over to taunt Kingston, who flips him off, while Ortiz recovers on the mat. Claudio blasts Ortiz with European uppercuts and then a vicious head butt and some chops. Danielson joins Claudio for a double team spot but Ortiz hits them with a double drop kick.

Claudio ends up catching him from behind and rag-dolling him into the corner to take back over. After this, we shift gears and head into a mid-match commercial break as our main event of the evening continues. When we return, we see Claudio controlling Ortiz on the mat in a hold as the fans try and rally behind him.

We see an eager Kingston looking for the tag from the apron in the corner. Claudio stops Ortiz from crawling for the tag by scooping his legs up and getting him in the giant swing. He heads over and glares at Kingston after letting him go. Danielson tags back in and goes to work on Ortiz, while also taunting Kingston.

Kingston finally gets the hot tag and the crowd goes absolutely insane as “The Mad King” starts taking out any-and-everything that moves. He beats Danielson and Castagnoli down as the crowd roar continues to grow. He tags Ortiz back in and Ortiz comes close to finishing off Danielson, however the BCC member hangs in to keep this one going.

As the action continues, we see Danielson beating down Ortiz while Castagnoli holds onto Kingston on the floor and forces him to watch. Things end up wrapping up like this, with the BCC duo picking up the win. Danielson spits in Kingston’s face before leaving the ring. He talks into the camera vowing to make his life miserable as this week’s show goes off the air. Thanks for joining us!

Winners: Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Andrew Everett

Now we return inside the arena where the theme for Claudio Castagnoli hits. The Blackpool Combat Club member heads to the ring as an “earlier today” split-screen interview airs. He settles inside the squared circle and his entrance tune dies down.

The giant in his own mind, Andrew Everett, makes his way out next as Claudio’s opponent. He settles in the ring and the bell sounds to get this one started. Castagnoli dominates him from the word “go.”

He hits a big swing and ultimately blasts him coming off the top-rope for the win. After the match, Castagnoli vs. Hangman Page is announced for AEW Dynamite: Homecoming.

Winner: Claudio Castagnoli

“If I was Sammy, I’d be running for the hills right now,” said Regal.

Claudio rammed Sammy into the turnbuckles and followed up with European Uppercuts! Sammy tried to chop Claudio’s chest but Claudio shrugged it off and blasted Sammy with more European Uppercuts! Sammy began to scale the cage and Claudio met him up there and yanked Sammy down onto the ring ropes.

Sammy spring boarded off the ropes to create distance from Claudio. Sammy gave Claudio the middle finger. Claudio was looking for an elevator uppercut but Sammy countered with a cutter!

Wheeler Yuta was in next and he got control of Garcia with a series of German Suplexes. Yuta turned his attention to Sammy and dumped Sammy with German Suplexes. Claudio flung Garcia across the ring.

Jake Hager entered for the Jericho Appreciation Society. Hager caught Wheeler off the top turnbuckle and slammed him. Hager and Claudio had a stare down.

“The clash of the titans,” said Regal.

“The match does not officially begin until all 12 men enter the ring,” said Excalibur.

Hager dropped hammer fists on Claudio until Moxley entered and chucked a chair at Hager. Moxley turned Garcia inside out with a suplex. Moxley followed up with cross faces on Garcia. Moxley raked Garcia’s face across the steel cage. Moxley jabbed a fork into Garcia’s forehead.

Claudio lifted up Sammy and then dropped him into Moxley’s cutter. Then Wheeler splashed Sammy from the top turnbuckle. Angelo Parker came into the ring next and tried to flee from the Blackpool Combat Club! Claudio grabbed him and sent him for a ride with the gut wrench suplex! Moxley was waiting right there for an uppercut on Parker. Yuta and Claudio blasted Angelo with uppercuts.

“All of the Jericho Appreciation Society just about is down,” said Taz.

Hager nailed Claudio’s ankle with a steel chair! Garcia blasted Yuta with a shotgun dropkick! Ortiz entered the fray next! He dished out clotheslines to the Jericho Appreciation Society! Moxley spilled a bag of broken glass and spiked Angelo with a piledriver.

Matt Menard entered the ring with a steel chair, waffling Jon Moxley with it. Menard drilled Moxley, opening up Moxley’s wound from Forbidden Door.

Santana brought a barb wire bat and a table into the ring. Santana fired off chops on Menard! Moxley had a pocket full of skewers and spiked Menard in the forehead with them!

Chris Jericho had his baseball bat and entered the ring, but Ortiz ducked and DDT’ed “The Wizard”!

“Months of frustration from Ortiz directed at Jericho,” said Excalibur.

Claudio turned around and ate a Code Breaker from Jericho. Eddie came in with a kendo stick and be began cracking members of the Jericho Appreciation Society with it! And the match officially began with Kingston in the ring.

The fans began to chant “This is awesome! This is awesome! This is awesome!”

Tay Conti passed Jericho a bottle of rubbing alcohol through the cage. Yuta and Moxley took down Daniel Garcia with the Doomsday Device. Kingston and Ortiz powerbombed Hager through a table!

Moxley and Yuta had black bags and opened them, pouring out thumb tacks. Ortiz and Claudio tore up the canvas to expose the wooden boards. Jericho put the Walls of Jericho on Moxley in the tacks!

“It’s sadistic!” said Jim Ross.

Eddie grabbed a handful of tacks and smacked Jericho in the face with them! Tay Conti took out the ref and stole the keys from him to open the cage door. Ruby Soho sprinted to the ring and grounded and pounded Tay! They brawled to the back!

Jericho climbed to the top of the cage structure to get away from Eddie Kingston.

“I’m not sure Jericho knows that Eddie is in hot pursuit behind him,” said Taz.

Kingston walloped Jericho with the spinning back fist! Sammy climbed to the roof of the cage and tackled Eddie Kingston.

“This feels like the calm before the storm, and I think some in our audience feel the same way,” said Taz.

Kingston hit a low blow on Sammy. Kingston shoved Sammy off the top of the cage and Sammy came crashing down through the time keeper’s table!

Jericho and Kingston duked it out on top of the cage! Jericho applied the Walls of Jericho on Kingston! Claudio climbed up to the top of the cage and smashed Jericho with a running boot! Claudio hurled Jericho around with the giant swing on top of the cage! Matt Menard clubbed Claudio from behind, saving Jericho.

Claudio placed Matt in the scorpion death lock and forced “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard to tap out! Kingston was frustrated because he was trying to make Jericho tap out at the same time but Claudio got the tap on Jericho first! which got their team the victory

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

Who is the new member to the Blackpool Combat Club? It’s time to answer that question.

The video package airs for the match originally scheduled to be Zack Sabre Jr. and Bryan Danielson. With Danielson out, he has promised a suitable replacement and the reveal of the newest member of the Blackpool Combat Club.

Out comes Zack Sabre Jr. and he heads to the ring as the commentators sing his praises. He settles in and his music dies down.

Now the theme for Claudio Castagnoli hits and the crowd gives by far their biggest pop of the night, and one of the biggest in AEW history for sure.

As soon as the bell sounds, Claudio runs across the ring and blasts Zack with a forearm. He then goes for his Neutralizer finisher and connects. He goes for the cover but Zack kicks out at two.

Now the action truly gets underway as Claudio dominates Zack here in the early goings. Zack finally starts getting back in the fight and uses small joint manipulation and other holds to re-gain control.

We see the back-and-forth action from there until Claudio starts to take over again. Zack locks in a guillotine choke and then Claudio suplexes him onto the top-rope.

When it’s all said-and-done, we see Claudio Castagnoli pick up the victory. The commentators put him over as the perfect addition to the Blackpool Combat Club.

Winner: Claudio Castagnoli
