At Extreme Rules, Matt & Jeff Hardy will attempt to withstand the wrath of Cesaro & Sheamus when the two explosive tandems go to war for the Raw Tag Team Titles inside a Steel Cage on WWE’s most extreme night of the year!

Though mutual respect was the name of the game when The Hardy Boyz squared off against Cesaro & Sheamus at WWE Payback, the camaraderie quickly flew out the window during a vicious post-match attack. Just moments after the seven-time Tag Team Champions successful defended their titles, The Swiss Cyborg and The Alabaster Gladiator unleashed a brutal surprise assault on the extreme brothers and sent a definitive message that they are nowhere near done with Matt & Jeff.

Armed with their newfound ruthless aggression and a determination to prove The Hardys are nothing more than a “novelty act,” Cesaro & Sheamus went on to triumph in a Tag Team Turmoil Match to determine the No. 1 contender to the Raw Tag Team Championship, eliminating Enzo & Big Cass, Heath Slater & Rhyno, Golden Truth and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson on the May 8 edition of Raw in a dominant performance.

But Matt Hardy would win momentum back again when he overcame Sheamus two weeks later to win the right to name the stipulation for their Extreme pay-per-view showdown, the daunting Steel Cage!

Matt takes Sheamus down with a side headlock. Sheamus floors Matt with a shoulder tackle. Matt tosses Sheamus to the outside. Matt follows but Sheamus pushes Matt into the ring apron barricade. Sheamus start the ten beats of the bodhran but stops midway through when the crowd starts to count. Sheamus pushes Matt off the apron into the barricade. Top rope shoulder block by Sheamus. Matt and Sheamus traded punches. Sheamus misses a shoulder block in the corner. Matt slams Sheamus’ head into each turnbuckle. Matt goes up top but Sheamus stops him. Sheamus pulls Matt off the turnbuckle and lands a rolling senton. Sheamus works a rear chin lock. Matt gets to his feet but ends up eating white noise for a near fall. Jeff Hardy gets on the apron and distracts Sheamus. Matt tornado DDTs Sheamus for a near fall. Side effect by Matt for another near fall. Sheamus counters the twist of fate with a high knee. Sheamus pins Matt but Matt gets his hand on the bottom rope. Cesaro tries to attack Matt but Jeff jumps over Matt and clotheslines Cesaro. Matt hits the twist of fate for the win.

Winner- Matt Hardy

After the match, Matt announces the match at Extreme Rules will be a steel cage match.

Jeff is all over Sheamus. Sheamus attempts a brogue kick but Jeff moves out of the way and school boys Sheamus for a two count. Sheamus ends up on the outside of the ring. Jeff tries to splash Sheamus but Sheamus catches him and slams him into the barricade. After a short break Sheamus is working over Jeff with a rear chin lock. Jeff tries to fight out of it but Sheamus bodyslams him. Jeff catches Sheamus with an inverted atomic drop followed by a leg drop to the get. Jeff calls for the twist of fate. Sheamus flips Jeff over to avoid it. Sheamus almost decapitates Jeff with a high knee. Jeff whips Sheamus into the corner. Jeff runs in but Sheamus gets a boot up. Sheamus goes up top and dives at Jeff. Jeff hits Sheamus with a stunner as Sheamus lands. Sheamus kicks out. Cesaro gets on the apron. Matt pulls him down. Sheamus tries to brogue kick Matt but he totally misses Matt’s head. Sheamus kicks Matt in the gut and Matt falls into Cesaro. Jeff hits the twist of fate followed by the swanton for the win.

Tag Team Turmoil Match: Sheamus and Cesaro vs Golden Truth vs Enzo and Big Cass, vs Gallow and Anderson vs. Rhyno and Heath Slater

Sheamus lands multiple strikes before forces Cass into the corner. Sheamus tries to whip Cass but Cass reverses it. Empire elbow by Cass. Enzo tags in and Cass throw Enzo at Cesaro. Cass then throws Enzo at Sheamus. Splash off the top by Enzo for a two count. Enzo hits the ropes and runs right into a huge Irish curse back breaker. Enzo rolls out of the ring clutching his back yelling “ow ow ow ow ow ow”. After the break, Enzo taps out to the sharpshooter.

Enzo and Big Cass have been eliminated.

Rhyno and Health Slater are up next. Sheamus and Cesaro meet them on the stage. Cesaro and Sheamus beat the crap out of Rhyno and Slater. After multiple European uppercuts, Cesaro rolls Slater back int the ring. The crowd yells “he’s got kids” as Cesaro stomps Slater. Cesaro then stomps Slater slightly above the belt. Cesaro then leg drops Slater’s nether regions. After a taking turns destroying Slater, Sheamus brogue kicks Slater’s head off.

Rhyno and Heath Slater have been eliminated.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows are the next up. After a short break, Cesaro misses a corner clothesline. Anderson kicks Cesaro in the head. Gallows tags in and elbows Cesaro in the head. Gallows tries to suplex Cesaro but Cesaro a struggle suplexes Gallows. Sheamus tags in and battles Gallows. Sheamus tries a dive off the top but Gallows kicks him in the face. Everyone gets in the ring and a brawl breaks out. Cesaro takes out Gallows with a springboard European uppercut, Anderson spine busters Cesaro. Sheamus hits white noise on Anderson.

After another break, Anderson and Gallows hit the reverse 3D on Cesaro. Anderson and Gallows set up the magic killer but Sheamus breaks it up. Gallow runs right into the brogue kick for the win.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows have been eliminated.

The Golden Truth are the last team to enter. Truth and Goldust toss Cesaro over the top. Double Russian leg sweep by Golden Truth for a near fall. Running bulldog by Goldust. 10 punch in the corner by Goldust. Power slam by Goldust. Cesaro grabs Goldust and knee breakers him on the barricade. Cesaro and Sheamus work over Goldust’s knee. Cesaro puts Goldust in the sharpshooter. Truth breaks up the hold. Goldust tags in Truth. Truth knocks Sheamus off the apron. Calf kick followed by the gourd buster into the ax kick by Truth. Cesaro kicks out. Truth charges Cesaro in the corner but Cesaro moves out of the way. Truth bangs his head on the ring post. Cesaro rolls up Truth for the win.

Winners- Sheamus and Cesaro

After the match, Cesaro and Sheamus beat up Golden Truth. The Hardy Boys come out to make the save. Cesaro and Sheamus roll out of the ring to avoid the Hardyz.

In Ring Segment: Sheamus and Cesaro

Sheamus thanks the crowd… for some reason. Sheamus asks if they know how good it feels to be set free. For the last few months, he has been living in a fog. He never liked the WWE Universe. A “you look stupid chant breaks out”. Sheamus says no, Matt and Jeff Hardy looked stupid laying on the mat last night. The people never liked Sheamus. They treated him like a red-headed step child. But Cesaro? There was the “Cesaro section” and Cesaro believed that the people would propel them to the top. Sheamus says he believed him until WrestleMania. The Hardyz stole their moment. Cesaro said these people felt a rush of excitement when any nostalgia act shows up. The WWE Universe gets distracted by every shiny new toy. They rather look at the past or the future instead of what is in front of their face right here, right now.

The feel good moment from Wrestlemania didn’t last long. Last night they proved the Hardyz do not belong in the ring with a warrior and a Superman. Sheamus adds the honestly that the tooth of it (ha comma ha). Sheamus says they showed them that this isn’t the WWE they left behind. This is the WWE that belongs to Sheamus and Cesaro. They don’t set the bar. They are the bar! The Hardyz walk out on the ramp. Matt thanks Cesaro and Sheamus for that explanation. Matt says they feel as though they owe Cesaro and Sheamus a response. Matt put down the mic. Jeff and Matt both do the delete taunt and charge the ring. Cesaro and Sheamus hightail it out of there.

Raw Tag Team Title Match: The Hardy Boyz (c) vs Sheamus and Cesaro

Matt and Cesaro lock up. Cesaro wraps Matt up with an arm bar. Matt reverses and lands a few punches. Jeff tags in and hits an ax handle off the top. Matt and Jeff work over Cesaro. Poetry in motion by the Hardyz. Matt rolls up Cesaro for a two count. Matt whips Cesaro into the rope but Cesaro levels him with a European uppercut. Sheamus tags in and hits a rolling senton on Matt. Cesaro is back in and hit a roaring European uppercut. Cesaro and Sheamus are taking turns beating down Matt. Matt reverses a body slam attempt by Sheamus into a tag to Jeff. Jeff crotch leg drops Sheamus. Jeff locks in an armbar but Sheamus launches Jeff out of the ring with one arm. Cesaro is back in and he picks up Jeff for a deadlift gut wrench suplex. Sheamus tags in and drops a knee of the top onto Jeff’s chest for a near fall. Jeff surprises Sheamus with a chin breaker. Before Jeff can tag in Matt Sheamus kicks Jeff in the face.

Cesaro tags in and lands a leg drop off the top for a long two count. Sheamus is in and he lifts Jeff up and drops him down into the Irish curse back breaker. Cesaro gets in the ring but Jeff takes him and Sheamus out with the whisper in the wind. Reverse enziguri by Jeff before tagging in Matt. Matt slams Cesaro’s head into the turnbuckle over and over again. Running bulldog by Matt leads to a near fall. Middle rope elbow drop, followed by the side effect. Matt goes for the pin but Sheamus breaks it up. Matt misses a moonsault off the top. Springboard corkscrew European uppercut by Cesaro. Cesaro swings Matt, then locks in the sharpshooter. Matt tries to get to the ropes but he can’t reach. Jeff pushes the rope in so Matt can break the hold. Sheamus grabs Jeff and tosses him into the barricade. Matt goes up top but Cesaro lands a leaping European uppercut. Sheamus climbs up top and hits white noise off the top rope. Jeff breaks up the pin.

Jeff tries to dive onto Cesaro on the outside but Cesaro catches him. Cesaro tries to toss Jeff into the crowd but Jeff reverses it and sends Cesaro into the crowd. Matt tries to hit the twist of fate on Sheamus. Sheamus turns it into a DDT. Jeff blind tags himself in. Sheamus power slams Matt and goes for a pin but Matt is no longer the legal man. Jeff dives off the top and swantons Sheamus and Matt at the same time. Jeff rolls over Sheamus and gets the pin.

Winners and STILL Raw Tag Team Champions, The Hardy Boyz

After the match, Cesaro and Sheamus shake Matt and Jeff’s hands and leave. Matt and Jeff celebrate in the ring. Cesaro reappears and pushes Jeff off the top rope. Sheamus and Cesaro beat down the Hardyz.

Cesaro: “The return of The Hardys was a momentazo! … but not for me and Sheamus”

There are less than two weeks left for WWE to return to Spain. Once again we will live the best matches in the world of professional live fight on May 6 in Valencia and 7 in A Coruña. Expect a spectacular weekend, with great moments. Therefore, one of the best European competitors who have ever graced the ring, Cesaro, took a minute with WWE.com.

WWE.COM: Switzerland is a country without a great fighting tradition, so I imagine that the beginnings were difficult. Why do I choose a Swiss guy to engage in professional struggle?

CESARO: I think you are absolutely right, certainly Spain and Switzerland, two countries with good relationship, have the same problem. I saw a lot of fighting when I was a kid and I fell in love at that stage when some people dream of being astronauts or things like that, and I wanted to be a professional fighter. Already growing up and pursuing my dreams, I had the opportunity to start training at age 19 and I was fortunate to be granted American residency, so I was able to fulfill my dream and become the first Swiss Superstar of WWE.

WWE.COM: The Hardy Boyz returned in WrestleMania. What a momentazo! Do not you think?

CESARO: Yes, go ahead for them! But not for me and Sheamus. They took action and truncated our plans. It was certainly a moment of enjoyment for the fans, they were very excited and they became very noisy. Notice that when I was young I saw the Hardy Boyz and enjoyed them a lot, I loved to see them fly.

WWE.COM: Sheamus and you will face them in WWE Payback for the Raw Couples Championship. What do you think of that and how has the landscape changed in the team division after his return at WrestleMania?

CESARO: I think the pair split changed when Sheamus and I joined, as we are two of WWE’s best competitors and surely the best team. The Hardy Boyz may have the “nostalgia factor” in their favor and they are certainly a great team, but in Payback we are going to win again the championships, because I want to return to Europe, I want to return home being world champion.

WWE.COM: You have been very successful both as an individual competitor and in pairs, but how do you feel more comfortable?

CESARO: Both. I think the key to being a great WWE Superstar, to be a great fighter is that you have to be the best around. Whether in singles or in pairs you have to adapt and hit all the challenges and I think I’m doing pretty well.

WWE.COM: After the Shakes of Superstars, who would you like to face?

CESARO: There are a lot of guys who changed teams, but I would have liked some more movement in the division in pairs. I was hoping that The Uses or American Alpha would change to Raw, but I do with those who came like The Miz, Dean Ambrose … people I’ve faced before and I would not mind facing them again, but Either way I am very happy that Sheamus and I are on this side instead of the other.

WWE.COM: If you could choose someone from SmackDown LIVE, who would you choose?

CESARO: That’s a very good question. There are lots of great SmackDown competitors, Luke Harper has been on the lag lately; Randy Orton, with whom I have been in the ring a couple of times, but who is now the current champion and I always have my eyes on the championship; If we talk about teams, American Alpha, Uses, Sexy Cops [Breezango] … there are many and Sheamus and I will never say “no” to any challenge, so we will continue to step forward and SmackDown is full of many challenges.

WWE.COM: You travel a lot with Sheamus and spend a lot of time with him. What is the funniest story that has happened to you?

CESARO: Well, I have to admit that Sheamus may be a little on the road, but he is a tremendous competitor, his work ethic is bullet-proof, he works very hard and that motivates me. We motivate each other, if I am tired encourages me and vice versa. We have many funny stories, he likes to do “chicken”, I have a great time with him.

WWE.COM: From the moment you faced Sheamus seven times to the moment you joined forces with him, what changed? How would you explain it to a casual aficionado?

CESARO: If you fight many times against someone you end up having respect. Sheamus put all the meat on the grill, just like me, and we began to respect each other as athletes. We looked at each other and we said many things to the face, believe me, many things, but we respect what the other does in the ring and how good it is.

WWE.COM: What do you think about the new talents that have come up from NXT like The Revival on Raw or Shinsuke Nakamura?

CESARO: It’s good to always have new people and the people coming from NXT come stomping. For me, what they have to do is keep that step steady and steady, with high eyes, because now they have many eyes on them and I want to see if they are able to do it.

WWE.COM: How do you feel during the tours around Europe, especially when you are in your native country?

CESARO: It’s always special for me. Whenever we do tour around Europe we had a great time. To my honestly, I am delighted to go to my native country, specifically Zurich, but I also tell you that in any country we visit on European tours is like my home. The public is always very involved and has a great time even if we go a couple of times a year. Besides, they love to see me and make me very happy. But I also tell you that I am jealous of Smackdown because they are going to visit Spain again and I have never been in your country with WWE.

WWE.COM: SmackDown will be the tour that is in Spain, but you have been in our country many years ago in Pinto with Kassius Ohno …

Fox Sports Interview: FOXSports.com: “Italians, dress you better than Enzo

The Swiss athlete jokes on the WWE Italian-American stereotype: “Quiet, you have a better look and I can not wait to go back to May.”

Wrestlemania 33, in partnership with his Sheamus partner, Cesaro had the opportunity to recover Raw Team Tag Team titles in the Ladder Match, then won by Hardy Boyz at WWE’s surprise return. In the coming weeks, the European couple have managed to reap the chance to compete for the Payback belts, the next Pay-Per-View, to be held on April 30 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

Regardless of how the match will take place, there will be a new rematch at the next WWE tour in Italy, which will bring RAW superstars to Rome and Bologna (May 3 and May 4 respectively). One of the scheduled matches in the card of these two events will be just a Fatal-4 Way for the pair titles, which will see the two team teams that will challenge Payback, plus the tandem Enzo Amore-Big Cass and Gallows-Anderson .

A spectacular event and where both the pair formed by Enzo Amore and Big Cass, WWE’s “Italian-Americans”, namely that of Cesaro and Sheamus, will always have the special support of the Italian audience. Just to present the upcoming tour in Europe and talk about much more, the Swiss athlete, just hours after the start of the last episode of WWE Raw, appeared at the Sprint Center Arena in Kansas City, Missouri, to respond To journalists’ questions. And among them was the editorial staff of FOXSports.it .

Antonio Cesaro said he was immediately excited about this tour in Europe, particularly the Italian stage where he could enjoy a drink of which he is crazy and that in the United States it is very complicated to find:

The coffee. I love him and there is no one who does it as well as in Italy. It will be a pleasure for me to return, each time it is as if I were in my house. However, I also grew up as an athlete, I will never forget the meetings I made in the smaller federations before winning the “green card” and becoming a professional wrestler in all respects.

Enzo Amore, the Italian stereotype

He now sees it in pairs with Sheamus, looking for those Tag Team Champions belts that Cesaro has already won twice in his career . In his palmares there is only one title on the individual level, that of Intercontinental Champion:

Now I’m focused on the goals we have at Sheamus at WWE Raw . I think we’re creating funny matches, people appreciate them. And as I said before, we are determined to repay the Payback titles against Hardy Boyz. Then it is clear that in the future I would like to win something else on an individual level. One goal I have before quitting is just to become Universal or WWE Champion.

Going ahead of this step, it is not excluded that it will succeed. Meanwhile, the next goal is called Payback , then the tour will be in Italy. Matt manages to catch Sheamus with a neck breakers followed by multiple leg drops for another near fall. Sheamus sets up a body slam but Matt manages to get off Sheamus’ shoulder. Sheamus kicks Matt in the chest. Sheamus almost starts the ten beats of the bodhran but Matt fights out of it. Sheamus picks up Matt on his shoulders while on the apron. Sheamus looks for white noise but Matt reverses it into the side effect on the apron! After a short break, Sheamus is working a rear chin lock. Sheamus finally lands ten beats of the bodhran. Sheamus mounts the top rope and levels Matt with a double axe handle for a near fall. Sheamus calls for white noise again but Matt gets out of it.

Sheamus tries to shoulder block Matt in the corner but Matt moves out of the way. Matt takes Sheamus over with a tornado DDT. Matt slams Sheamus’ head into the turnbuckle as the crowd chants, “Delete!’ Running bulldog by Matt followed by a top rope elbow drop for a two count. Matt calls for the twist of fate but Sheamus catches Matt with a knee to the face. Matt tumbles to the outside. Sheamus dives off the apron but Matt kicks Sheamus in the gut and sets up the twist of fate. Sheamus picks up Matt and crushes him with a running senton. Jeff tries to check on Matt, but Sheamus pushes him away. Jeff gets on the apron but Cesaro pulls him down. As Sheamus is distracted, Matt hits the twist of fate for the win.

Winner- Matt Hardy

After the match, Cesaro gets in Matt’s face. Sheamus stops Cesaro and extends his hand to shake with Matt. Matt motions at Sheamus with the delete taunt but eventually shakes Sheamus’s hand.

Backstage, The Hardy Boyz are asked what has surprised them since returning. Matt says the superstars are stronger and faster. Jeff says he is happy to back on Raw. Sheamus and Cesaro walk in and say they Hardyz steal the show but they can’t beat them without ladders. Jeff says they don’t need ladders to beat them

Jeff grabs and armbar but Cesaro reverses it. Jeff rolls out of Cesaro’s armbar. Jeff floors Cesaro with a dropkick. Jeff flattens Cesaro with a splash off the apron. Jeff tries a body block, but Cesaro catches him and hits a power slam. Jeff rolls to the outside. Jeff is noticeably limping. Cesaro charges in and catches Cesaro with a roaring European uppercut.

After a short break, Cesaro sends Jeff crashing under the bottom rope. Cesaro locks in a rear chin lock. Jeff fights out of it and hits a clothesline to take down Cesaro. CesaroCEsaro surprises Jeff with a roaring European uppercut in the corner for a two count. Jeff catches Cesaro with a boot to the face, running elbow, and crotch dropkick for a two count. Jeff sets up the twist of fate but Cesaro reverses it into another European uppercut. Springboard corkscrew uppercut by Cesaro for yet another near fall. Cesaro tries to set up the swing, but Jeff fights out of it. Jeff goes up top for the swanton but Cesaro cuts him off. Jeff pushes Cesaro off the top rope. Cesaro lands crotch-first on the top rope. Jeff dropkicks Cesaro off the ropes. Whisper in the wind by Jeff for a two count. Jeff goes for the rope hang kick, but Cesaro moves out of the way. Cesaro calls for the neutralizer but Jeff reverses it into the twist of fate. Jeff goes up top and lands the swanton for the win!
